Break-even calculator
Annual multi-trip · single trip
One policy a year, or one per trip?
Annual cover is usually cheaper from your second trip. But it caps how long each trip can be and often stops at a lower age. Put in your own quotes to see where you break even.
Updated 6 October 2026 · Figures sourced and linkedGet an annual quote and a single-trip quote for a typical trip, then set how many trips you'll take and the longest one. The calculator shows which is cheaper and warns you if your longest trip breaks the annual policy's limit.
Uses your own quotes. Annual policies cap each trip's length, often 17 to 30 days on standard cover (MoneySavingExpert), and many have lower upper age limits than single-trip cover.

Three things that trip people up
The per-trip limit
Every annual policy caps the length of each trip. Exceed it and that trip isn't covered.
Cancellation is shared
The cancellation limit on an annual policy usually applies per trip, so make sure it covers your priciest holiday.
Renewal and health
Declare new medical conditions at renewal and when they're diagnosed mid-policy; it can change the price or the cover.
