Over 70s & over 80s

Older travellers can get cover. Pick the right type.

Annual policies tend to stop at a lower age than single-trip cover, and some insurers set no upper limit at all. Set your age to see where you stand.

What to look forCheck annual age caps

You're above the average annual-policy age limit, so many annual policies won't accept you. Look for annual cover with no upper age limit, or buy single trips.

Why prices rise

Claims by age

Insurers price on the claims they pay. In 2023 the average claim from a 71–75-year-old was more than three times that from a 36–40-year-old (ABI). Declaring conditions accurately and comparing specialists is the way to keep cover affordable. See medical conditions.
